FREE ONLINE LEGAL RESEARCH
FOR MSBA MEMBERS

Effective immediately, the Maryland State Bar Association is offering FREE
(Yes, really free) online legal research through Fastcase to all MSBA members.

Members will have FREE access to:
  • Maryland Case Law, Statutes, Regs, Court Rules, Constitution
  • US Supreme Court, All Federal Circuit Courts
  • Fastcase's comprehensive law libraries for ALL 50 states
  • Maryland Bankruptcy Court
  • US District Court for the District of Maryland

In addition, for $195.00 per YEAR, members will be able to upgrade
to the Premium Plan which includes all the above plus

  • All other Federal District Courts back to 1912
  • All other Federal Bankruptcy Courts back to 1B.R. 1

You can only access this new benefit through the MSBA website. There is a Fastcase Logo in the upper right hand corner of our site. There is also a link to Fastcase under the Members Only Section of our site.

In order to sign into Fastcase, you will need to use your membership account number. This number is on your dues invoice which you will be receiving in June. If you do not know your number, you need to call Membership at Bar Headquarters at (800) 492-1964 and you will be given your number. No numbers will be given out via email. To make it easier for you to remember your MSBA Account Number, you can print a card with your account number on it by going to http://www.msba.org/mymsba/card.asp

In addition to Fastcase, this new number will be used on the website as a login ID for the Member Only areas like Ethics Opinions, EBB, Fastcase, Member Update, Mentoring, and Section only areas instead of your email address. You will need to have your current email address on file to receive your password.

Fastcase is very easy to use. If you have any experience with online legal research, you will have no problems using Fastcase. They have excellent on-line support or you can call
