There is a great deal of controversy surrounding the death penalty.  To educate the public about Maryland’s death penalty, the Maryland State Bar Association is presenting a free public law forum on Wednesday, February 12 at the University of Maryland School of Law from 12:15 PM to 1:30 PM, in classroom 205.  The pros and cons of Maryland’s death penalty will be discussed from the defense and prosecution perspective.

Prominent Maryland attorneys Gary Christopher, Chief Assistant Federal Public Defender and Annabelle Lisic, Senior Counsel for Capital Litigation for the Office of the Maryland Attorney General, will be the featured speakers of this engaging debate.  Both attorneys will present their views then entertain questions from the audience.  Adam Sean Cohen, Esq., will serve as the forum’s moderator.

The Death Penalty Public Law Forum, which is open to all members of the public, is sponsored by the Maryland State Bar Association’s Public Awareness Committee.  Attendees are encouraged to bring their own brown bag lunch, and light refreshments will be served.  All attendees must show photo ID to enter the University of Maryland School of Law.
