YOUTH VIDEOS PREVIEW TOMORROW
At “How Law Impacts Everyday Life of Youth” Event
The preview of youth videos depicting How the Law Impacts the Life of Young People will be one of the highlights of the Maryland State Bar Association’s (MSBA) Law Day celebration on May 13 at the Sheppard Pratt Conference Center. The ten videos hail from MSBA’s first “Law in Your Daily Life” video contest which challenged Maryland’s youth, and the general public, to creatively capture how the law impacts their daily life on a three minute video and submit it to MSBA for cash prizes.
Over 170 high school students, teachers and lawyers from across the state will attend this program to explore the law’s impact on today’s young people, focusing on everything from MySpace, FaceBook, YouTube and one’s online reputation to the prosecution and prevention of internet crime. Chief Judge Robert M. Bell, Court of Appeals of Maryland, will offer keynote remarks.
The event will be held at the Sheppard Pratt Conference Center in Towson, 9 AM to 3 PM. The videos, seven from the under 18 years old category and three from the 18+ category, will be aired, and the winners announced, at 2 PM, after the audience selects its own “People’s Choice” winner.
