CARDARO TO BE INSTALLED AS STATE BAR PRESIDENT
Thomas C. Cardaro will be installed as President of the Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA) on June 13, 2009, during the Association’s Annual Meeting in Ocean City, Maryland. Cardaro, a partner in the Baltimore City law firm of Cardaro & Peek, LLC, is a prominent litigator who hails from a small law firm. MSBA’s new President is recognized as a top leader in Maryland’s legal community who fosters civility in the practice of law and collegiality in the profession.
Cardaro will serve a 12-month term and will be joined by newly-elected officers: President-Elect, Thomas D. Murphy, a partner with the Law Offices of Murphy & Mood, P.C., in Rockville; Treasurer John Patrick Kudel, a solo practitioner in Rockville and Of Counsel to the Rockville-based law firm of Karp, Frosh, Lapidus, Wigodsky & Norwind, P.A.; and Secretary Henry E. Dugan, Jr., a partner in the Baltimore County law firm of Dugan, Babij & Tolley, LLC.
The new President will enhance MSBA as a lawyer resource because
lawyers, like everyone else, have been hit hard by these tough economic
times and need assistance. Cardaro is also championing lawyer volunteer
pro bono work so lawyers can help Marylanders in need by giving free
legal assistance, “fill the gap” and feel good about
helping others.
Cardaro received his J.D. degree from Catholic University of America
in 1985 and joined the law firm Smith, Somerville & Case as an
associate. In 1990, he became a partner at Klores & Cardaro,
P.C., then in 1999 founded Thomas C. Cardaro & Associate, which
became Cardaro & Peek, LLC, where he remains today focusing on
medical malpractice and catastrophic personal injury cases. He has
been an active member of MSBA since 1985 and most recently held the
office of President-Elect. Cardaro was President of the Bar Association
of Baltimore City in 2004.
Cardaro wants to serve as MSBA President to give back to a profession
that has been good to him.
