The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System has appointed Cynthia Collins Allner as director of the Baltimore Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond for a three-year term. Allner is a Principal with the law firm of Miles & Stockbridge, where she focuses her practice in the area of corporate finance.

Gregory K. Wells, founder and partner in the law firm of Wells & Holeman, LLC, has become a Fellow of the College of Trial Lawyers.

Gary M. Hyman has joined Ober Kaler as a principal in the Business & Tax Department of the firm’s Baltimore office.

Shobita C. Du Bois has joined the law firm of Adelberg, Rudow, Dorf & Hendler, LLC, as an associate attorney.  Du Bois focuses her practice on business and corporate law.

The Legal Aid Bureau’s Equal Justice Council (EJC) recognized Venable associate Patricia McGowan with this year’s Young Lawyer’s Division Award for her individual efforts in the field of pro bono work. The EJC also awarded Venable the Trailblazer Award for the firm’s pro bono contributions over the past year.

Deborah L. Webb has been named a principal of the law firm of Lerch, Early & Brewer, Chartered. Webb focuses her practice in the areas of domestic relations, litigation and guardianship law.

Piper Rudnick announces the appointment of Paul Tiburzi as Managing Partner of the firm’s Baltimore office.

The Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland, Inc., has selected Kathleen Ellis as one of four recipients of the 2003 Maryland Pro Bono Service Award for her service on behalf of pro bono clients. Ellis is a partner in the Baltimore office of the law firm of Piper Rudnick.

Laura L. Hoffman has joined the law firm of Pepper Hamilton LLP as of counsel.

Gordon, Feinblatt, Rothman, Hoffberger & Hollander, LLC, announces that Managing Member Herbert Goldman and Tax & Estate Planning Practice Group Member Richard F. Lindstrom have been elected as Fellows of the Maryland Bar Foundation.
