Volunteers Key To Welcoming New Admittees

Last December, attorneys from MSBA’s Membership Committee and Young Lawyers Section welcomed new admittees into the Maryland State Bar Association during swearing-in ceremonies at the Maryland Court of Appeals in Annapolis, Maryland. MSBA members Ruth-Ann E. Bennent, Hughie Hunt, E. Benjamin Alliker, Matthew S. Evans, Heather Crenshaw, Stuart Schadt and Jonathan Kagan shook hands with the 1,020 new admits while handing out MSBA member benefit packages.

“Participating is a reminder to me of why I became an attorney,” says Hughie Hunt, a partner in the law firm of Kemit and Hunt and a member of MSBA’s Membership Committee.

“I see it as an all-around fun day that is worth my time,” says Ruth-Ann E. Bennett, MSBA Leadership Academy Fellow and an associate of the law firm of Franklin & Prokopik, P.C.

Volunteers are already gearing up to welcome the new admittees who will be sworn-in next month. If you would like to participate, please call Jan Jones Branch, Membership Committee Liaison, at the Maryland State Bar Association at (410) 685-7878, ext. 226.
