Barry Chasen, a past chair of the Maryland State Bar Section on Negligence,
Insurance and Workers' Compensation, and a highly regarded philanthropist,
has been selected by the National Capital Area Chapter of American ORT to receive
the ORT Community Achievement Award, which is given to people who make a unique
contribution to the greater community and establish a new direction for society.
Joseph M. Quirk, a solo practitioner from Rockville, was awarded the
2005 John Carroll Society Pro Bono Legal Service Award for outstanding contribution
to the Archdiocesan Legal Network of Catholic Charities, a pro bono program
serving the legal needs of the poor and homeless.

The American Judicature Society has presented its 2005 Justice Award to Benjamin
R. Civiletti, a former United States Attorney General and chairman of
the law firm Venable LLP, for his significant contributions to improving
the administration of justice nationally.

Active Maryland State Bar member Leo J. Jordan was awarded arbitrator
of the year by the New York City Small Claims Court Arbitrators Association.
Jordan serves as an arbitrator several times a week in Lower Manhattan, Mid-Town
