On November 18, The Daily
Record held its fifth annual Leadership in Law Awards Luncheon
at the Scottish Rite in Baltimore. Every year, The Daily Record honors
24 outstanding Maryland attorneys and judges who epitomize the benchmark
of success in Maryland’s legal community. To date, The Daily
Record has honored 120 outstanding Maryland judges and lawyers
with this esteemed award. The 2005 award recipients included MSBA President
J. Michael Conroy, Jr., and MSBA Secretary Alison L. Asti, in addition
to many other exceptional MSBA members.
The Daily Record gives these
awards to recognize successful members of Maryland’s legal
community who have devoted time and energy to bettering the legal
profession. These remarkable legal professionals have committed themselves
to improving the communities in which they live and work and have
played an important role in mentoring future professional and community
leaders.
The Top Leadership in Law Award was presented
to Paul A. Tiburzi, managing partner of the Baltimore Office of DLA
Piper Rudnick Gray Cary US LLP. As the first "Top Leadership in Law
Award" winner, the Honorable Robert M. Bell, Chief Judge, Court of
Appeals of Maryland, presented this high honor to Tiburzi and thanked The
Daily Record for "recognizing the good works of judges and lawyers
and raising the profile of Maryland’s legal profession."
