Frederick County Bar Dishes Out Holiday
Feast
By Tom Breihan
On November 23, the Bar Association of Frederick County (BAFC) and the Salvation
Army got together to spread a little holiday cheer. About 30 BAFC members gathered
at the Frederick Salvation Army to serve hot Thanksgiving dinners to over 370
Frederick residents. Through donations, BAFC bought the meals, which were then
prepared by the Salvation Army staff and served by the members.
“I thought it would be fun and also be something important
for the community,”
says Committee Chair Scott Hartinger, who planned the annual event at the request
of BAFC President Stephen Carper. “Everyone was thankful to the Salvation
Army for the work that they did.”
BAFC will continue its charitable efforts on March 4 when
it holds its Art Auction to benefit the Interfaith Housing Alliance.
