MSBA Names New Director of Administration

Nicole Earl

Nicole Earl
MSBA Director of Administration

Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA) Accounting Manager Nicole Earl has been promoted to Director of Administration.

“Since the position of Director of Administration has so many responsibilities regarding the accounting and business functions of the MSBA, I am very pleased to be able to promote Nicole Earl to this position,” states MSBA Executive Director Paul Carlin. “For the last five years-plus, Nicole has demonstrated her competence and diligence as our Accounting Manager. Those responsibilities have given her detailed knowledge about our extensive budgeting process and many of the business management tasks regarding insurance, personnel policies and business records of many varieties.”

“I first came to the MSBA [by way of the Maryland State Department of Health & Mental Hygiene] as the Accounting Assistant in 1998,” explains Earl, who subsequently left the organization for a brief period the following year before being “lured back to become Accounting Manager in 2000.”

“I’m confident that Nicole will quickly learn the many details of her additional duties involving the Young Lawyers Section, the Maryland Bar Foundation and the Resolution of Fee Disputes Committee, among other assigned duties,” adds Carlin.

Naturally, those additional duties will increase Earl’s profile within the organization – a significant but welcome change from the more behind-the-scenes world of accounting.

“As the Director of Administration, I’ll have the opportunity to meet the members,” she notes. “I’ll finally be able to match faces with names that have passed across my desk for years.”

“Working at Bar Headquarters is great,” she adds. “The MSBA staff has come to be like family. It’s a relaxed and friendly office where we work hard, but we have fun, too. Who could ask for a better place to work?”

“Promotion of employees internally is a good morale-booster, and the staff was delighted with Nicole’s promotion,” Carlin adds.
