department as Counsel in the firm’s Baltimore office. Representing health
care providers, manufacturers, researchers and payors, Kim advises clients

The law firm of Paley Rothman announces that David B.
Shapiro has joined the firm as an associate. Shapiro’s practice
areas include business and commercial transactions, health law, employment
law and other transactions associated with technology development and licensing.
Kathleen M. Dumais, a principal and member of Paley

Paula A. Calimafde

Paula A. Calimafde, a principal of Paley Rothman who
chairs the firm’s Retirement Plans and Employee Benefits practice groups
and Employee Benefits practice groups and is also a member of its Estate Planning,
Government Relations and Nonprofit practice groups, recently testified before
Congress on behalf of the Small Business Council of America regarding the repeal
of the estate tax.
Along with two colleagues, Kevin Ewing, an environmental
attorney in the Washington office of Bracewell & Giuliani LLP, has been
awarded a 2005 Burton Award for Le gal Achievement in recognition of excellence
in legal writing and analysis for their “Corporate Environmental Disclosures:
Old Complaints, New Expectations”, published in the September 2004 issue
of Business Law International.
