The United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit has appointed MSBA
Lawyer Assistance Committee Chair Robert A. Gordon as U.S. Bankruptcy
Judge for the District of Maryland.

I. Niedermayer has been elected Director and Assistant Secretary of the

Kevin L. Shepherd, a partner in the Real Estate Group of Venable LLP,
was elected as a Fellow in the American Bar Foundation, which only selects
for membership the top third of one percent of the nation's lawyers.
Who's Who Legal: USA has recognized James P. Gillece and Jeanne
M. Phelan of the Baltimore-based firm of Whiteford, Taylor & Preston,
LLP, as leading practitioners in the area of Labor and Employment Law.
Attorneys Jennifer Stearman, of McGuireWoods LLP, and Norman L.

Ober Kaler has promoted Elissa F. Borges, a litigator who represents

and Eric D. Gazin, a member of the Lending and Leasing Group, to

Faith D. Dornbrand and Elizabeth S. Morris have joined the
Divorce and Family Law Group of Pasternak & Fidis, P.C., as a shareholder and
associate, respectively.
