The Smithsonian Environmental Research Center appointed Midgett Parker, a partner with Linowes & Blocher, LLP, as their Chair of the SERC Advisory Board. Parker has been on the SERC Board of Advisors since 1995.

Joel A. Smith, a founding partner of Kahn, Smith & Collins, P.A., has been elected a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers due to his leadership in the field.

The Alliance of Black Women Attorneys of Maryland has elected Arielle Harry-Bess and Katrina Moore as President and President-Elect, respectively, for the 2007-08 term.

Stephen A. Metz, a shareholder with Shulman, Rogers, Gandal, Pordy & Ecker, P.A., has been elected to a one-year term as Chair of the Greenbelt Chapter of Bankruptcy Bar Association (BBA) for the District of Maryland.

The American Bar Association has published the second edition of H. Ward Classen’s “A Practical Guide to Software Licensing for Licensees and Licensors.” Classen is an Associate Deputy General Counsel for the Computer Sciences Corporation.

Jennifer E. Phillips has joined Walker & Murphy, LLP, as an Of Counsel and will continue her practice in civil litigation.

Gallagher Evelius & Jones, LLP, has added Ward B. Coe, III, as a partner in their Litigation and Healthcare Practice Groups.

Brian R. Della Rocca has joined Stein, Sperling, Bennett, De Jong, Driscoll & Greenfeig, P.C., where he will continue his practice in the Probate and Estate Planning arena.

Donohue & Blue, PLC, a firm associated with telecommunications, has appointed Sean Hughes to Partner, where he will represent clients in all aspects of wireless network deployment.
