Attorney Michael D. Zimmer has been elected to Carroll County's Board of County Commissioners, where he will serve as the secretary of the board during his four-year term.

Frederick C. Sussman, a Partner with Baradel, Kosmeri & Nolan, P.A., has be re-elected as an officer in the Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce.

Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon has appointed George A. Nilson, an Of Counsel to the Legislative and Regulatory practice of DLA Piper US LLP, as City Solicitor of Baltimore.

J. Charles Smith, III has been elected as State's Attorney for Frederick County. During his tenure, he will continue to serve on the Board of Directors for the Maryland State's Attorneys Association.

Anne Marie Jackson, a family law practitioner with Ain & Bank, P.C., has been selected to be a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.

The Greater Baltimore Christian Legal Society, Inc., has named attorney James McFaul as its new president, while Barbara Holmes remains the vice president. Their terms will expire in October 2007.

Thomas J. Dolina, an alternative dispute mediator for Bodie, Nagle, Dolina, Smith & Hobbs, P.A., has been added to the National Arbitration Forum's national panel of independent and neutral arbitrators and mediators.

Attorney Neil E. Duke has been promoted to principal with Ober Kaler. An employment law practitioner, Duke is an active member of the MSBA Committee on Judicial Appointments and past president of the Monumental City Bar Association.

Linowes and Blocher, LLP, has elevated associates Anne C. Martin and Renee M. Finley to the positions of Partner and Of Counsel, respectively. The firm has also added attorneys Linda M. Schuett, Debra S. Borden, Demetrios M. Datch, Heather Dlhopolsky, Gabrielle M. Duvall, Justin P. Hayes, Andres H. Lopez, and Benjamin S. Wechsler in various departments.

Arthur D. Kuhl has been elected as Partner at Reger, Rizzo, Kavulich & Darnall, LLP, where he practices in the areas of Insurance Defense Litigation, Insurance Coverage and Commercial Transactions.

Frank, Frank & Scherr, LLC, an Elder Law-focused practice, has added Mary E. O'Byrne to its Lutherville-based firm.

G. James Benoit, Jr., has joined Neuberger, Quinn, Gielen, Rubin & Gibber, P.A., as an associate in the firm's Corporate and Transactional practice. Benoit is currently the representative for the 4th District in the Anne Arundel County Council.

Stark, Meyers, Eisler & Leatham, LLC, has named zoning and land-use attorney Erica Leatham as Partner, while hiring Deborah Ziffer as an associate in Estate Planning and Corporate Law.

Shulman, Rogers, Gandal, Pordy & Ecker, P.A., has added Stephen A. Metz, Patrick J. Howley, Howard J. Ross and Jacob A. Ginsburg as shareholders.

Michael T. Ebaugh and Catherine A. Keller have been hired by Tydings & Rosenberg, LLP, as associates in the Business/Corporate/Tax Department and the Bankruptcy/Creditor's Rights Department, respectively. The firm has also named Ann M. Grillo, a practitioner in the Litigation and Family Law Department, as Partner.

McGuireWoods, LLP, has elected Jennifer J. Stearman, whose practice concentrates on corporate and public finance as well as general corporate law, as a Partner and added Andrew S. Johnston as an associate in the firm's Business and Securities Litigation Department. Darcy A. F. Bisset has also been brought in as an associate in their Corporate Services Department.

Margaret H. Oliver, an experienced adoption/custody litigator, Robert Campbell, an attorney based in civil and commercial litigation, and Vasilios Peros, a technology and intellectual property practitioner, have been made members of Hodes, Ulman, Pessin & Katz, P.A.

John H. Denick and Associates, P.A., announce that Rebecca Carter has become an associate in the firm.

Adleberg, Rudow, Dorf & Hendler, LLC, has added six new attorneys to the law firm in various capacities. Oren D. Saltzman, Brian S. Jablon, Mark L. Miller and Renee Bronfein Ades have become members, as Karen E. Hess joined the firm as an associate and Leslie J. Polt was named Of Counsel.
