Thomas Patrick Ryan, an attorney with McCarthy Wilson LLP and a member of MSBA’s Board of Governors, was named 2008 “Lawyer of the Year” by the District of Columbia Defense Lawyers’ Association.

Peter B. Rosenwald, II

The American Red Cross of Central Maryland elected Peter B. Rosenwald, II, an attorney in the Financial Services Group at Gordon, Feinblatt, Rothman, Hoffberger & Hollander, LLC, as Chair of the Board of Directors.

Charles N. Curlett, Jr.

Saul Ewing LLP Associate Charles N. Curlett, Jr. was appointed to the Felony Criminal Justice Act (CJA) Panel for the District of Maryland. The CJA Panel consists of 100 lawyers in the state who represent, at reduced rates, indigent defendants. (w/pic)

Niles, Barton & Wilmer, LLP, elected attorney Owen J. Curley to their Partnership.

Kevin D’Anna has joined Paley Rothman, where he will work with the firm’s Employee Benefits, Retirement Plans, Business/Commercial Transactions and Tax practice groups.


Lila Shapiro-Cyr
Stein, Sperling, Bennett, De Jong, Driscoll & Greenfeig, P.C., has added Nindiya G. Ramchandani as an Associate. She is a member of their Personal Injury Law practice group.

The J.D. Program at Georgetown University Law Center awarded the 2007-08 Charles Fahy Distinguished Adjunct Professor Award to Douglas M. Bregman.

Stein, Sperling, Bennett, De Jong, Driscoll & Greenfeig, P.C., donated a therapeutic recreation room to Heart & Homes for Youth, the Maryland non-profit serving troubled and at-risk youth. The room is located at the Redl House, a group home in Rockville, Maryland, that houses 6-to-12-year-old boys who have been abused or neglected.
