Tabitha Renee Brown was sworn in as a member of the Bar of the United States Supreme Court by all nine Justices.  Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr., motioned for Brown’s admission.

Bowie & Jensen senior partner Mark Jensen has been nominated and approved to serve on the MedStar Health Investment Committee.  MedStar Health is a non-profit, regional healthcare system with a network of nine hospitals and other services in the Maryland and Washington D.C. area.

Deborah Luxenberg received the Charles A. Horsky award from the Washington D.C. Council for Court Excellence (CCE).  Luxenberg, a family law attorney with Luxenberg, Johnson & Dickens, PC, was selected for her contributions as the chair of the CCE’s Children in the Courts Committee since 2001.

William Boshnick of Greenblum & Bernstein, PLC, was appointed vice chairman of the Intellectual and Foreign Law Committee of the American Intellectual Property Law Association.

Duane Morris, LLP, awarded Azim Chowdhury, an associate in the firm’s Baltimore office, with its 2009 Pro Bono Award.  The award recognized Chowdhury’s efforts in the immigration case of a 13-year-old El Salvador boy.

Kevin Shepherd, Venable’s Real Estate Practice Group co-chair, has been elected president of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers.

The American Bar Association’s Business Law Section appointed Nicole Munro, a partner in the Maryland office of Hudson Cook, LLP, as vice chair of the Consumer Financial Services Committee.

Zuckerman Spaeder, LLP, added A. Paul Pineau to their firm as an associate working in criminal and civil litigation.

Rosenberg Martin Greenberg LLP announced that Benjamin Rosenberg will become chairman of the firm and Barry Greenberg will take over as managing partner on January 1, 2010.

Kevin B. McParland, Daniel P. Rigterink and Heather L. Kafetz have become principals at Bregman, Berbert, Schwartz & Gilday, LLC.

Ober Kaler brought in Victoria Z. Sulerzyski to their Baltimore office as an associate.

Harriet E. Cooperman and Gary B. Eidelman, both partners in the Labor, Employment and Employee Benefits Practice Group at Saul Ewing, LLP, have been elected Fellows of The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.

James M. Peppe, an attorney in corporate law and business transactions, has become a shareholder at West & Feinberg, P.C.

Ober Kaler announced the beneficiaries of their annual Community Grants Program.  Baltimore Chesapeake Bay Outward Bound Center and Pediatric AIDS/HIV Care, Inc., will each receive $10,000. And Horton’s Kids, a tutoring program for Washington D.C.’s Wellington Park neighborhood children, will receive $15,000 from the firm.
