Paul Bland, Kiernon F. Quinn, Marty Wolf, Robert K. Jenner and Bruce Plaxen have been named 2009 Trial Lawyers of the Year by the Maryland Association of Justice. The Association also named Kevin I. Goldberg, a founding partner of Goldberg, Finnegan & Mester, LLC, as their incoming President for 2009-10.

Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, LLP, attorneys, Timothy F. McCormack and Michelle M. McGeogh, received a $1,000 prize at the firm’s Annual Pro Bono Awards for their pro bono work, and donated the money to the Domestic Violence Center of Howard County.

Erica A. Leatham, a Principal with Meyers, Eisler & Leatham, was elected Chairman of CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) National Capital Committee, and became LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) certified.

The American College of Trial Lawyers inducted John R. Penhallegon as a Fellow.

The American Academy of Adoption Attorneys, a national organization of over 300 attorneys, elected Peter J. Wiernicki Vice-President.

William Boshnick of Greenblum & Bernstein, PLC, in Reston, Virginia, lectured before the Japan Trademark Association in Tokyo, Japan, on “Avoiding Fraud Before the U.S. Trademark Office”.
