Harry Johnson

Harry Johnson, a MSBA past president and partner at Whiteford Taylor & Preston, was named chairman of the GBMC HealthCare, Inc., Board of Directors.

The University of Maryland’s Children Hospital appointed Jennifer Stearman as chair of its board of visitors. Stearman is a partner in the Baltimore office of McGuireWoods LLP.

Geoffrey W. Washington started his term as chairman of the sustainability committee for NAIOP Maryland, the local chapter of a national trade association for professionals in industrial, office and mixed-use commercial real estate. Dario J. Broccolino, a state’s attorney in Howard County, was elected president of the Maryland State’s Attorney’s Association.

The Arc of Baltimore, an advocate and support service assisting men, women and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, elected Kimberly Longford to its Board of Directors. Longford is an associate at Hodes, Pessin & Katz, P.A.

Stephen L. Owen, a partner at DLA Piper, joined the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Museum’s Board of Directors.

Oren D. Saltzman, an attorney at Adelberg, Rudow, Dorf & Hendler, LLC, began a two-year term as board chairperson at Learning, Inc.

Maryland Delagate Kathleen M. Dumais received a Legislator of the Year award from the Maryland State’s Attorney’s Association.

E. Philip Franke, III, was named a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and in the Maryland Bar Foundation.

George Nemphos, head of the Corporate Practice Group at Duane Morris, LLP, has been elected to the board of the University of Baltimore Foundation.

FIRN, a non-profit organization that serves the foreign-born community in Central Maryland, appointed Jill Marie Bussey, a partner at Goel & Anderson, as vice president of its Board of Directors.

Jeffrey E. Letzkus received an LL. M in Taxation with a Certificate in Estate Planning from the University of Baltimore School of Law. Letzkus is a partner at Tillman, Shehan & Letzkus, LLC.

Temple Oheb Shalom installed Jerald B. Lurie as its executive vice president of planning. Lurie is an attorney at Adelberg, Rudow, Dorf & Hendler, LLC.

Daniel C. Costello, a shareholder at Wharton, Levin, Ehrmantraut & Klein, P.A., in Annapolis, was elected into the American Board of Trial Advocates.

Matthew G. Hjortsberg was elected managing member of the Towson law firm Bowie & Jensen.

Ober Kaler added Drew S. Tanenbaum to the firm’s Finance Group as an associate.
