Mark F. Scurti
Governor Martin O’Malley appointed Mark F. Scurti, a member of Pessin Katz Law, PA, to the Board of Directors for Maryland Legal Services Corporation. Scurti has served on the MSBA Board of Governors and is Past President of the Bar Association of Baltimore City.
Guy Flynn, chair of DLA Piper’s Real Estate practice, was named partner-in-charge of the firm’s downtown Baltimore office.
Deborah G. Matthews was named the 2012 Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year by the Fairfax Bar Association. Matthews was recognized for her service to “ Wills on Wheels”, a program in which volunteer lawyers assist low income seniors and disabled adults throughout Northern Virginia to draft planning documents such as wills, health care directives, and powers of attorney.
The Maryland Entrepreneur Quarterly, a news publication founded by The Business Monthly and the Maryland Center for Entrepreneurship, named Sheela Murthy its 2012 Maryland Business Entrepreneur of the Year. Murthy, Founder and President of the Murthy Law Firm, was also elected to the TiE DC Board of Directors, the Washington branch of TiE Global, an international network of entrepreneurs and C-level executives who have roots or business interests in the Indus region.
