The Hon. Pamila J. Brown, an Associate Judge of the District Court of Maryland, Howard County, and the Secretary of the Maryland State Bar Association, provided the keynote address to students of Baltimore’s Mergenthaler Vocational-Technical High School attending the Civics and Law Academy on Thursday, February 27, 2014. Volunteer attorneys and judges ran sessions throughout the day designed to help high school students gain a better understanding of the law. This Academy was organized by the Bar Association of Baltimore City in honor of the Hon. Paul A. Dorf, who passed away in 2012. Students discussed topics such as juvenile rights, criminal law, free speech, and the law in the technology age.
