Guidelines for MSBA Events for Local and Specialty Bars

DEADLINES
The e-newsletter will be mailed either on or close to 15th of each month.  We avoid mailing an e-newsletter on Friday.

We will send reminders about when information is due to us.  Generally, information will be due about a week before sending the newsletter.  This gives us the opportunity to create the newsletter and check links.  The sooner you get the information to us the less likely there will be a mistake or a problem.

We will take information after the deadline but we cannot guarantee we will get the information into the newsletter the closer it is to the sending of the newsletter.

COMMUNICATION
We will send e-mail newsletters to all local and specialty bar presidents and executive directors.  This will create some overlap for those larger associations.
If there are others who need to be on the reminder list, please let us know.

We make every effort to update the local and specialty bar president information on the list.  If your bar association, has made a change, please let us know.

NOTE:  We will forward any changes to our membership department and other departments that work with local and specialty bars.

You can see the information that we currently have for your Association at http://www.msba.org/links/md/index.htm.  In addition, we have the schedule, deadlines and these guidelines on this same site.

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY:  We will confirm receipt of all messages sent to us from local and specialty bars.  If you do not get a response from us, we did not receive your message.  Please re-send it or contact us.

INFORMATION
Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for local and specialty bars with small or no staff.  We do not require that you adhere to a specific format but we do ask that you always include the following information:

We ask that you include the following information for all events:
Title, Date, Time, Location, Cost (if any), and who to contact for information or to register.

You may also send us a copy of a brochure or link to website if you want to have a registration form that people can send to you for registration.

If any of this information is missing, we will contact you if time permits.  If we do not have all the information, we will have people contact the local bar association for more details.

You may send us information as far in advance as you like.  You may send us Save the Date information but please try to include as much information as you have.  We will not automatically repeat information each month unless you send it to us.  We have no way of knowing whether or not an event is still happening.  You will need to send us information each month if you wish to have it listed.

If an event is for members of your association only, that should be noted.

As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me or John Ahn.  If you have any suggestions on how we can make the process easier, please let us know.
