The mission of the Special Committee on Entertainment and Sports Law is to:
(a) provide educational information, networking and professional opportunities, and a forum for communication to members of the Maryland bar interested in entertainment and sports law issues;
(b) conduct outreach to members of the general public, educational institutions, and the sports and entertainment industries.
The Committee implements its objectives by offering continuing legal education (CLE) on a range of topics, with a focus on sports and entertainment matters, facilitating career development by promoting expertise in these and related areas of practice, conducting meetings and other collaborative events, and engaging in a variety of outreach activities for its target audiences. CLE, networking and career development opportunities are among the Committee's highest priorities, particularly with respect to the development of expertise on issues affecting Maryland and the 4th judicial circuit.
