The 2009 ABA Enterprise Fund Veterans Advocacy Pro Bono Project recently awarded a grant to MSBA’s Military Law Committee and its partners, the Homeless Persons Representation Project, the Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland, and the University of Maryland School of Law to establish a state-wide Maryland Emeritus Attorney Veterans Initiative to provide legal representation to veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in Maryland. This will allow the group to expand its existing program whereby attorneys receive free training in exchange for taking a pro bono case to represent veterans applying for VA disability and pension benefits. Please contact Justin Browne if you would like to learn new skills or apply those you already heave to support Maryland’s veterans.
