2009/2010 ANNUAL REPORT:

This Committee, the liaison between the MSBA membership and the Court’s Standing Committee on the Rules of Practice and Procedure, monitors meetings of the Rules Committee and requests input from Sections and Committees so MSBA members are heard at the Rules Committee meetings on any proposed Rules changes. It monitored the Rules affecting foreclosure, discussed by the Rules Committee, and plans to address the issue of multi-jurisdictional practice with the Rules Committee, which has been adopted in other states. The Committee also participates in the Attorney Subcommittee of the Standing Committee on Rules as it affects fee shifting and believes the Subcommittee might issue its recommendation to the full Rules Committee prior to MSBA’s Annual Meeting.
