2011/2012 ANNUAL REPORT |
The Section added several new members to its Section Council and began planning ways to make its website more informative and of greater value to its membership. It was
active in deliberations over the future of Continuing Legal
Education within the Association and has been focused on the
developing mortgage foreclosure mediation responsibilities
of the Office of Administrative Hearings. The Section will
sponsor a program entitled “The Response Movie: Combatant
Status Review Tribunals at Guantanamo: Habeas Corpus
and Due Process (Or Lack Thereof)” at the MSBA Annual
Meeting. |

PURPOSE |
The purposes of the Administrative Law Section are to promote the administration of justice in the State of Maryland in the subject area of administrative law; to bring together members of the Association having a special interest in the subject; to study and work for reform and improvements in the administrative law of the State of Maryland by legislation and otherwise, to report and make recommendations to the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branch of State and local governments as to the improvement of administrative law; to cooperate with other committees, sections, and bar associations in the improvement of administrative law; to present programs to educate members of the bar and the public in developments in administrative law; and generally to promote the interest of the public and of members of the Bar of Maryland in the subject of administrative law. |
