ADR SECTION
Section Council Appointment Procedure
The ADR Section Council has
a Membership Committee made up of the Chair-Elect, the Secretary, One section
Council member and two members at large. The Membership Committee is chaired by
the Section Chair-Elect. Announcements are made in our newsletter and on our
MSBA web page about the time and date for nominations. The Committee looks at
nominations from the Council and from self-nominations. Please see our by-laws
for the membership term structure.
In the past the Membership
Committee has sought the participation of women and minorities. It also looks
for a geographic representation on the Council and for individuals who represent
different areas of dispute resolution practice.
After the committee reports
to the Section Council, the list of nominees is again posted for the membership
to view. The nominees are then voted on by the full membership at the Annual
meeting. The Section gives opportunities for our membership to serve on
Committees chaired by a Section Council membership.
