Council member Bios

James Johnston joined the MSBA Correctional Reform Council in 2007 and was elected to the Section Council in 2009.  Mr. Johnston has worked for the Maryland Office of the Public Defender since 2003.  He currently represents clients charged with felonies in Baltimore City Circuit Court for the Neighborhood Defenders - Northwest division of the office.  Mr. Johnston is a graduate of Dickinson College and Tulane University Law School.  He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Maryland Criminal Defense Attorneys Association.
