2011/2012 ANNUAL REPORT: |
This Section continues to devise and pursue membership outreach initiatives to increase its membership base while continuing to provide education and other programming of interest to its existing members.
|
PURPOSES: |
The mission of the Entertainment and
Sports Law Section is to:
- provide educational information, networking
and professional opportunities, and a forum for communication
to members of the Maryland bar interested in entertainment
and sports law issues;
- conduct outreach to members of the general
public, educational institutions, and the sports and entertainment
industries.
The Section implements its objectives by offering
continuing legal education (CLE) on a range of topics, with a
focus on sports and entertainment matters, facilitating career
development by promoting expertise in these and related areas
of practice, conducting meetings and other collaborative events,
and engaging in a variety of outreach activities for its target
audiences. CLE, networking and career development opportunities
are among the Section's highest priorities, particularly with
respect to the development of expertise on issues affecting Maryland
and the 4th judicial circuit. |
