Meeting Minutes – Environmental
Law Section Council Meeting 09/02/04
Attendees: Pam Marks, Frank Levi, Peter Zimmerman, Bobbie
Barkman, Dorothy Guy and Christine Nagle
- Do we want to do a MICPEL Program
- Do we wsnt to do a program at the next MSBA annual
- Pam spoke to Dave Kochanski – RE section chair
- they do a newsletter, institute in September,
a listserv
- spring MICPEL coordinate with RE Section
- Pam will explore adding something to the Sept.
21 RE Program
- or next year’s program
- Other ideas for a MICPEL Program: Compliance
- Channeling thought into program
- delivery modes
- maybe a little at a time
- “ABCs” of RCRA, CWA, CCA
Breakfast Program
We will have a breakfast program this fall.
MICPEL
Should we try to start work on a MICPEL program now?
Yes, one in coordination with the Real Estate section. Pam will contact chair
of real estate section to let him know.
Mark and Frank will lead this section’s effort. Pam mentioned that Peter
has had some good ideas in this area in the past and will want to participate.
Plan toward a ½ or ¾ day program next Spring. Another way would
be to do in conjunction with the annual Real Estate meeting in September 2005.

Nominating Committee
Need to get list together soon. Pam will check with Tony Gorski to see
if he has list/input.
Chris will handle putting together list for upcoming year. Due by Jan.
Miscellaneous
-MSBA has asked for a membership point person from the section. Deferred until
more members are present.
-Legislative issues- Richard Montgomery MSBA person to coordinate with if section
were to desire to take a stand on a piece of legislation. Pam told Montgomery
for this section that would be unlikely due to diverse role of members in the
section.
Section members agreed. Possibility of taking a stand seen only if a piece
of legislation involved process only and not substance.
-Section Council Mtg.- Would like to have face to face meeting some before
the end of the year-late Nov or early Dec. Pam will send out an email with
possible dates.
