2011/2012 ANNUAL MEETING:

This Section conducted educational programs regardingthe Attorney General’s Health Education and Advocacy Unit and the ongoing implementation of Health Insurance Exchanges as a result of the Patient Protection and AffordableCare Act of 2010. It hosted Bar Counsel for the Attorney Grievance Commission to raise awareness on professional responsibility and conducted a program on the crime fraud exception to the attorney-client privilege. The Section plans to conduct its usual review of Maryland legislation affecting health care providers and will sponsor a program entitled “Get Your Health Care Reform On – A Handicapper’s Guide to State and Federal Health Care Reforms Affecting Maryland” at the MSBA Annual Meeting.
