2010/2011 ANNUAL MEETING:

This Section held educational programs for its membership and law students on topics including “The Meaningful Use Regulations: How to Access the Available Incentive Payments,” presented by Elizabeth Holland of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services; “Health Care Reform: Key Provisions Affecting Health Care Providers and What to Expect in 2011 (and Beyond),” presented by Donald Romano, Esq., Celia Landgren, Esq., Katheryn Calvert, Esq., and Christi Braun, Esq.; and “What’s Old is New Again: Changes in Maryland Administrative and Case Law that May Affect Your Practice,” presented by Sigrid Haines and Marc Cohen. It presented a legislative roundup summarizing health care legislation passed in this year’s General Assembly session in the spring.

New Maryland Legislation, Effective July 1st Requires New Mandatory Procedures for Subpoenaing Medical Records

PURPOSES:

The Purposes of the Section are:

  1. To bring together members of the MSBA interested in health law;

  2. To promote the continuing legal education of the bar in health law;

  3. To sponsor health law publications for the benefit of the bar and public; and

  4. To work on a cooperative basis to improve the law and promote the interest of the public and members of the bar in health law
