The next meeting of the Employment/Labor Law Brown Bag Society will be on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 from Noon until 1:00 (1:30) at the Offices of Adelberg, Rudow, Dorf & Hendler, LLC. We will be discussing what an employer can/should do about employees (or their family members) who have been diagnosed with swine flu or think they have the swine flu? It is fairly obvious if FMLA or the Maryland Flexible Leave Act apply but what if they dont. Does the employer have a duty to protect its other employees; does the employee have any duty to stay home if they are/their family is sick?
