2010/2011 ANNUAL REPORT:

This Section provided several programs focusing on District Court trial practice, including “District Court Practice,” which provided participants with a hands-on practical exercise in preparing and conducting direct examinations, cross examinations and handling opening and closing statements. It hosted a program on the Frye/Reed test and how to request and conduct such a challenge to scientifi c evidence in March and sponsored a “Dinner with the District Court Judges” in April. The Section continued to produce and distribute several editions of its newsletter, The Maryland Litigator, keeping its members apprised of hot topics in the area of Litigation as well as news from Bar Counsel. It continues its efforts to improve its website and coordinate with the MSBA on legislative matters and will sponsor a program on the basics of E-Discovery at the MSBA Annual Meeting.
