The purpose of this Section is to promote the objects of the Maryland State Bar Association within the field of litigation, and to that end, to elevate the level of trial and appellate practice in State and Federal courts serving Maryland and to increase the professionalism of the general litigation attorney. To achieve these objectives, the Section serves as a forum for exchanging ideas among Section members and the Association, and between the Section and other groups in matters of interest to litigators; consider issues with respect to rules, procedures and practices of litigation and present recommendations on those issues; develop relevant materials and seminars for continuing legal education in cooperation with the Maryland Institute for Continuing Education of Professional Lawyers, Inc. and others similarly interested; establish and maintain regular contact with the State and Federal judiciary to achieve resolution of problems of mutual concern; and generally to promote and further the interests of the profession within the field of litigation. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
