Negligence Insurance & Workers Compensation

There will not be a Section Council meeting this Thursday. I
have decided not to have a meeting because of budgetary constraints. Our dinner
budget is $1,890.00 and we have used a third of that for the two meetings so
far. Therefore, to insure that we can meet five times from January through
May, I decided not to have a December meeting.
I will be working on getting our web site up and working by the first of
the year and planing for the Workers Compensation Bench Bar Outreach to be
held in the Annapolis area in March. Commissioner Teitel believes he can have
three to five Commissioners in attendance. Ben Boscolo and Gary Crawford just
finished a great W.C. CLE in Montgomery County and I'd also like to have Ted
Cornblatt involved. I think three Commissioners and three attorneys would be
a workable number. Restaurants in Anne Arundal County that the M.S.B.A. works
with are: O'Brien's, Fred's, and Busch's Chesapeake Inn. Do any of these have
a suitable meeting room? If not, we'll try the Loews Hotel. Please fax, or
e-mail, any suggestions on location or attorney speakers to me.
I had assigned a review of WCC regulations on Vocational Rehab to a subcommittee
of: Ted Cornblatt, Gary Crawford, and Mike McAuliffee. Written comments must
be forward to the WCC by January 8, 1999. I'd appreciate it if this subcommittee
could fax me suggested comments, if any, by December 15, 1999 so I could circulate
them to everyone for review.
Lastly, I have e-mail addresses for Ray Hertz, Mike Steinhardt, and Mike Schreyer.
Would anyone else who has an e-mail address please e-mail me with it so I can
list everyone on the Section web site and use that for more of our communications.
