Negligence Insurance & Workers Compensation
December 1998
1. Out Reach Program - We have tentatively agreed to have our Out Reach Program,
as indicated, in late March in Anne Arundel County at Fred's Restaurant. Mike
Steinhardt advised me they have a good sized meeting room and it is a fine
restaurant. Between now and the meeting on February 8, 1999, I am going to
ask Gary Crawford to coordinate dates with Ben Boscolo and Ted Cornblatt on
the Bar side of the meeting and to also speak with Commissioner Teitel to coordinate
dates for the Commissioners.
2. Annual Meeting - Ocean City - Please review our previous notes regarding
topics for the annual meeting seminar. We should make a decision at the February
meeting and then attempt to enlist speakers so that is completed soon.
3. Legislation - We will be discussing legislation at the February meeting
and I will be asking for a volunteer to help with the W.C. legislation and
another volunteer to help on the Negligence/Insurance legislation. Nothing
I have received so far appears to earth shattering.
4. Brochure - I will bring the current "Do You Need an Attorney"
MSBA brochure to the February meeting for review to see if the Section feels
it is worth revising as part of a Section project this year.
5. Web Site - A mailing will be going out to every member of our Section in
the next week advising them about our Web Site and asking them to e-mail headquarters
with their e-mail address so they can be separately listed and can be notified
of Section events by e-mail. By the time of the February meeting, I hope to
have some changes and additions to the Web Site in place.
If anyone else has any new items for discussion for the February meeting,
please contact me with them in advance. I am hopeful that this schedule will
work out for everyone and that we can stay within our assigned budget.
