Section Council Meeting Minutes
October 28, 2002
Meeting was held in Annapolis 6:00pm at the Rams Head Inn.
Present at the meeting were Nancy Harrison, Chair, Frank L Lipshultz Secretary,
Richard Teitel, Ted Cornblatt, Wallace Kleid, Mike Steinhardt, Ray Hertz.
A. Old Business/Minutes
Welcome new members - Mark Vincent as the Commission representative
Minutes of the September meeting will be submitted via e-mail for approval.
B. Communications (Newsletters, MSBA Pamphlets, etc.)
Newsletter to be accomplished by Ben Boscolo who will provide date deadlines.
Jury Instructions Nancy Harrison and Frank L Lipshultz will be working on
supplementing the pattern jury instructions for Workers Compensation they
will meet in January.
C. Legislation None at this time.
D. Programs
1. Section Program - spring (MICPEL Hot Tips is in April)
2. Annual Meeting the program will be held in Columbia and the topic will
be examination at trial of an accident reconstruction expert. Direct and
Cross Examinations to be conducted by experienced litigators. We will secure
an expert Ray Hertz to contact or supply a name. Frank L Lipshultz to attempt
to secure plaintiff and defense counsel tentative date set for March 10,
2003
3. The June MSBA meeting is tentative of presenting proposed jury instructions
with a circuit court judge.
E. New Business
Announcement that Maureen Quinn is the new appointee for the Workers Compensation
Commission
F. Meeting Schedule
Next Meeting, December 2, Baltimore Little Italy.
The January meeting to be held at the Elkridge Furnace Inn on January 20.
2003 with a snow date of January 27, 2003.
May meeting May 5, 2003 Kent Manor Inn.
