Distinguished Maryland Real Property Practitioner Award
Past Recipients
2009-2010: Kevin J. Shepherd
Mr. Shepherd has been practicing in the area of real property for over twenty-five years. He is respected as an authority on complex real estate transactions.
An accomplished lecturer on subjects ranging from the USA Patriot Act and Gatekeeper Initiative to law firm finance matters to general real estate topics, Mr. Shepherd has presented at the American Bar Association, Maryland State Bar Association, Maryland Institute for Continuing Legal Education and the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. He is also a prolific author of dozens of published articles, and the former editor-in-chief of Probate & Property. Mr. Shepherd's professional and civic affiliations include past Chair of the ABA Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law, current president of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, a fellow of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys, and a governor of the Anglo-American Real Property Institute. Mr. Shepherd has served on a number of task forces and committees, including the ABA Task Force on Gatekeeper Regulation and the Profession and the ABA Standing Committee on Publishing Oversight. Mr. Shepherd will be presented with this award at the Annual Meeting of the Real Property Section in Ocean City, Maryland on June 11, 2010.
