2012/2013 ANNUAL REPORT:

This Section sponsored three “Hanging Out a Shingle” programs and brought back its Solo and Small Firm Conference, held in November at the BWI Hilton. It, in conjunction with the Young Lawyers Section, also held a very successful Networking Event at the Sheraton in Columbia, which included a short but lively panel of experienced practitioners discussing the most important lessons to learn about starting and running a solo practice.

The purpose of this Section is to promote the solo and small firm practice of law and undertake such other and diverse activities authorized from time to time by the Association or the Officers and Council of the Section as shall enhance the competence and skills of solo and small firm practitioners, and improve their ability to deliver the most efficient and highest quality legal services to their clients. The activities of this Section are designed also to enhance the role of solo and small firm practitioners as contributing members and leaders of their communities, the legal profession and the Association.
