This is my last opportunity for communication from this honored position. It has been a very quick and worthwhile year of activity for the Section of Taxation. Much has been accomplished by very good people. In addition to the great performance by our cast of present Council members, past Chairs in the form of Mary Beth Beattie, Walter Calvert, David Cohen, Stuart Levine, Ron Shiff and Al Pasternak have all contributed greatly with their guidance and active participation.

Due to workload requirements, Courtney Blair will be leaving us and will be sorely missed. However, our nominations committee has proposed four new members for the Council and with the addition of Jeffery Markowitz as Secretary-Treasurer, Jonathan May as Chair Elect, and Robin Denick as Chair, we have talented people in place, for the promotion of Tax Section objectives next year.

I thank everyone for the pleasure of serving as Chair this year, and offer my best wishes to all. Please have a safe and happy Spring-Summer.
