Pro Bono Committee

The Pro Bono Committee is committed to promoting pro bono legal service across Maryland and encourages all YLS members to get involved with National Pro Bono Week, which occurs on the last week of October each year.  Take part by joining the Young Lawyers Section in providing legal services at the Baltimore City Pro Bono Day on Saturday, October 29, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m at Legal Aid, 500 E. Lexington Street, Baltimore, MD 21202. 

Pro Bono Day is a free legal clinic open to the public where volunteer attorneys provide brief legal advice in a variety of subject areas.  You can volunteer for all or part of the day, in either legal or non-legal capacities.  This is an impressive event. The last Pro Bono Day, held in May 2011, served well over 160 people with more than 190 legal issues. The Organizers look forward to an equally successful clinic on October 29th. This is a great way for people of all experience and skill levels to get involved in pro bono activities, from recent law school grads to experienced practitioners.  If you’re interested in participating or would like more information, check out http://probonodayfall2011.eventbrite.com.  And tell your friends!
