The MSBA takes pride in its role as a volunteer association to which its members decide to belong each year. Tens of thousands of attorneys represent a very diverse profession, from solo practitioner to small firm, large firm, in-house, government, public interest, the judiciary, academia, and more. The MSBA’s ability to be the voice of this diverse profession is enhanced when its members’ voices are heard as it plans for the future.

The MSBA has held numerous local Bar meetings, focus groups, and strategy planning sessions throughout the state intended to convey shifts in the legal profession and to garner perspectives from attorneys on how those changes will impact them and, thus, how the MSBA can be supportive. In addition, the MSBA is in the process of surveying its membership on a host of questions to provide open-ended comment opportunities. Please take the 5-7 minute survey here.

The information gleaned from reaching out to attorneys throughout the state via meetings, focus groups and surveys, as well as other sources, will inform the Board of Governors as it plans the priorities for the organization over the next several years. Although diverse interests can create complex considerations when charting a course for the future, the key objectives of serving the profession and public interest are always clear.
