The MSBA Construction Law Section brings together Maryland lawyers who practice construction litigation or construction law related to real estate transactions with a variety of educational and social activities; fosters camaraderie and professionalism among construction law practitioners through related events; and promotes a higher caliber of legal practice among Section members – and across the Bar, generally – through its sponsorship of educational programs, updates on developments in law and legislation, and written materials and resources for practitioners.
On February 21, 2019, the Construction Law Section of MSBA hosted Current Issues and Challenges Using HUD-Insured Construction Loans – a live seminar in Columbia, MD. The program featured a panel of speakers addressing topics on prevailing wage issues, cost certification concerns, contract forms including the “Heavy F” option, and issues surrounding the “identity of interest” element common to HUD projects.
