MSBA advocates on behalf of all 40,000 local legal professionals by highlighting your collective voices to create meaningful change and secure your interests.

  • MSBA rallied thousands in a successful 2020 campaign against a taxation of legal services bill that would have affected the interests of all Maryland law firms and practitioners. The legal profession is safe from attack based on our collective action.
  • MSBA continues to advocate in Annapolis, connecting members to local legislators in our annual Lobby Day and speaking up for standardized courthouse entry procedures.

Supporting the Profession

MSBA supports the entire profession, especially during times of crisis.

  • MSBA immediately responded to COVID-19 and offered resources to all legal professions during this time of crisis. MSBA created a dedicated COVID-19 website, provided dozens of live and on-demand COVID-19 related webinars, conducted virtual town halls and meetings with MSBA leaders and sections, and connected with leaders including the Maryland and federal Judiciary and the Governor’s Office to advocate for the profession and seek clarity regarding orders.
  • During the COVID crisis, MSBA is providing its entire on-demand CLE catalog of 150+ products for free to the entire legal profession, when you need it the most.
  • MSBA continues to work with the Judiciary throughout the year, beyond COVID-19 issues, such as courthouse entry and more.
  • MSBA facilitates doing good for society and your profession in numerous direct and indirect ways.
