The MSBA continues its advocacy efforts by connecting with political leaders at the federal level. President Dana Williams and Executive Director Victor Velazquez were joined by President Elect Mark Scurti, Immediate Past President Keith Truffer and Past President Pamila Brown as they met with members of Maryland’s federal delegation.

The group had individual calls with Senator Cardin and Senator Van Hollen as well as Representatives Rupersberger, Raskin, Sarbanes, and a member of Representative Harris’ office.

Topics covered included

  • PPP performance and funding on behalf of attorneys and law firms
  • EIDL program performance
  • 501c(6) organizations’ eligibility for PPP
  • funding for homeless veteran legal representation
  • funding for Legal Services Corporation

Senator Van Hollen previously filmed a welcome message for last years Legal Summit & Annual Meeting and was also profiled in the MBJ. Senator Cardin will be profiled in an upcoming edition of the MBJ.

The entire Maryland delegation remains responsive to the MSBA. Thanks to them all.
