Back by popular demand, the MSBA is pleased to offer an all virtual 40-Hour Basic Mediation Training on January 8th, 10th, 12th, 17th, 19th, 2024. It begins on Monday, January 8th. The schedule is as follows:

January 8th : 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

January 10th: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

January 12th: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

January 17th: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

January 19th: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Five hours of asynchronous learning of exercises and homework will be assigned throughout the period of the course allowing attendees to complete the full forty hours of the training. 

This experiential training will comply with the requirements of Maryland Rule 17 for circuit court mediators. Together, trainers Ellen Kandell and Toby Guerin, Center for Dispute Resolution at Maryland Carey Law, have over 45 years of legal experience as attorneys, mediators, trainers and professors. Learn the skills & theory of facilitative mediation practice.

Mandatory attendance policy

The MSBA appreciates the time and financial commitment required of every registrant. Because of the interdependency of each classmates’ participation in all lecture and role plays for this training to be its best for all participants, 100% attendance is required of each registrant. If there’s a scheduling conflict that occurs during the training that requires a registrant to miss any portion of the training, we’ll refund the registration fee and no certificate will be awarded. Again, we’ll refund the tuition for the training so that you will be able to register for a future training. We appreciate your consideration and understanding of this policy.
