Alternative Opportunities for ADR Professionals

Description

Join the ADR section to hear about other ADR opportunities outside of being a roster mediator for the courts, and about other ADR processes outside of mediation.

Speakers:
Jonathan Rosenthal, Esq.
Director, ADR Division of FEMA

Jonathan S. Rosenthal is an experienced office Director with a demonstrated history of collaborating with stakeholders and partners to build and improve ADR programs in Maryland. He is highly skilled and experienced in mediation, other forms of dispute resolution, large group facilitation, strategic negotiations, program management and evaluation, and communication. He has excellent training and presentation skills that he has generously shared with the MSBA Section throughout the years, and is a proud graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law and Syracuse University.

John Greer, Esq.
Mediator, Arbitrator, Adjunct Professor, Settlement Conference Officer
Patuxent Mediation Services, LLC

John Greer is a member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals. He also has been certified as a mediator by the Maryland Council for Dispute Resolution. Certification, the result of a rigorous peer review, is a recognition that John meets the highest standards of professional competence. He has mediated 100s of cases over the past decade. In recognition of his experience and expertise, John has been appointed to the Business & Technology Track for Maryland circuit court mediations. This track handles the more complex cases. John is one of only 17 mediators in the state appointed to handle these cases.

John is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Maryland Carey School of Law, where he teaches dispute resolution and negotiation. He also is a mediator on many of our Circuit Court panels, plus the District of Columbia Court of Appeals and the National Security Agency (2005-2013). John is an arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and the Better Business Bureau, and a Settlement Conference Facilitator for the Charles County Circuit Court. He is highly experienced in presenting workshops on conflict management, and has generously shared his excellent presentation skills with the MSBA’s ADR Section throughout the years.
