This program will discuss the application of Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act and Torture Victim Protection Act of 1991 for bringing justice to victims of torture and terrorism in United States. Review practical lessons from litigating cases against sovereign states in Courts, alternative laws when the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act (FSIA) and Torture Victim Protection Act of 1991 (TVPA) do not support the facts of the case and the mechanism of collection of judgments under FSIA.
