Christina Wilkes, Esq.

Christina Wilkes is the founder of Wilkes Legal, LLC in Takoma Park, MD where her practice focuses on family-based immigration, removal defense, and assisting vulnerable populations with applications for asylum, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), VAWA, T&U Visas, etc. Ms. Wilkes has been in private practice since 2012; prior thereto, Ms. Wilkes spent seven years at Ayuda, where she served as Legal Director from 2008-2012 and Director of the Children’s Project from 2005-2008. Ms. Wilkes frequently collaborates with area non-profit organizations to provide pro bono representation, training, and mentorship in asylum and SIJS cases.  Ms. Wilkes is frequently invited to speak on issues of asylum law, SIJS, family-based immigration, and immigration court practice by AILA, the Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA), the American Bar Association (ABA) and others.  Ms. Wilkes is a member of AILA and the MSBA Immigration Section Council.  She is licensed in Maryland and D.C. and is fluent in Spanish.
