This has certainly been an unprecedented year for you, and for all of us in the legal community. We hope that you are safe and healthy as you navigate the “new norm.” We are reaching out to you to stay connected and engaged with your peers and the legal community as we face these new challenges, and to provide a forum for you to discuss how you are feeling, discuss job and interview resources, mentoring options, and wellness opportunities.
When COVID-19 began evolving rapidly across the country and then throughout the state, the MSBA shifted its focus to offer free resources to the entire legal community of Maryland. Since March 13, 2020, over 17,000 legal professionals and students have viewed our 20+ original COVID-19 webinars and accessed our 150+ on-demand CLE content. The MSBA has advocated for the profession and shared over 200 questions with the Maryland Judiciary, dozens of questions with the Governor’s Office of Legal Counsel, and discussed reopening considerations with the Chief Judge of the Maryland Federal Judiciary. We recently published a reopening guideline for the legal community, available as a complimentary resource for all legal professionals, here.
Although we still cannot hold in-person events, we would like to keep the community spirit going. We are hosting a virtual “Coffee Talk” on Monday, June 22 from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. for law students to engage with one another, alumni, and other legal professionals who will facilitate the discussion. During these uncertain times and social isolation it is important we stick together as a community.
Show us your mug (both coffee and your face!) as we connect via Zoom. If you aren’t a coffee or tea drinker, bring your cup of whatever and come enjoy a virtual social engagement.
Virtual Networking Component Through Treble
During the latter part of the session, our partner Treble will showcase their networking app to help you build a stronger community with your fellow MSBA members and make connections. We will engage in a Virtual Networking session including around the room introductions. In order to provide a great networking experience for everyone, we ask that you sign up for Treble and update your Treble profile (instructions available here) so that you can take part in the virtual introductions. It only takes five minutes (or less) to upload a photo, fill in your background, and how you can help others. And most importantly, be certain to post a wish or two (video instructions available here) that you can share with the group.
