Topic: ALTA forms, highlighting the 2021 changes
The program will provide an overview of the 2021 ALTA Policies and Endorsements adopted by the American Land Title Association on July 1, 2021. The presentation will highlight the new provisions, definitions, and format of the policies and endorsements. The presentation also provides a comparison between the prior 2006 versions of the forms to the 2021 versions. Of significant importance is a review of the most recent industry events that have impacted title insurance, including electronic notarization, changes in federal legislation, and recent decisions of the United State Supreme Court pertaining to Native American Lands. This course deals with many issues concerning the responsibilities of title insurers, their policy-issuing agents, and real estate practitioners to understand the changes implemented by the 2021 ALTA Policies and Endorsements, including both enhancements and limitations made to title insurance coverages, conditions, and exclusions.
